Since my youth, the great North was an appealing sanctuary for loneliness.

Through my journeys, I found that there were people who like the South, its warmth, its exotic coverage, while some other people just like the North. These last persons seek the coldness, the darkness, the wide and empty spaces, the loneliness and surely something more.

In this serie, I wanted to show this something more that embraced my emotions and gave me a good feeling about crossing northern parts of Europe.

I wanted to mix painting and photography, to give a feeling of intemporality at the border of fuzzyness.

This serie was a 3-years work since I had to wait for the right season and to spend time in Ireland, Scottland and Lapland to walk and to get the shots that I had always dreamt. I was searching for the pictures that had appeared to me when I was young. There is definitively something of me in these septentrional regions ... like forgotten poetries of my own.

As everythings seem linked, I made a personal assumption : the North recalls the past while the South looks like the future.

The question is launched : which side do you prefer ?
